Prioritizing the Bread and Butter Issues: Mayor Chiang Inspects TWD Focusing on a Sustainable Water Environment in Greater Taipei
Since taking office, Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an has made frequent official visits to all departments and agencies of the Taipei City Government. This afternoon (12/28), Mayor Chiang visited the Taipei Water Department, attended a briefing on the latest operations of the Taipei Water Department and conducted an on-site inspection on the Water Quality Center of the Taipei Water Department. Mayor Chiang pointed out that water is the most critical infrastructure for people's livelihood and the stability of the water supply and water quality are closely related to about 5.35 million people residing in the Greater Taipei area, so he paid special attention to the monitoring and management of water quality by the Taipei Water Department. Mayor Chiang also stressed that in the face of the extreme climate change in recent years, the city government and the Taipei Water Department will continue to improve the water supply environment, stabilize the water supply and strengthen disaster prevention capabilities in the hope of transforming Taipei into a quality city that is livable and sustainable, environmentally friendly and energy efficient and free of water shortages. Mayor Chiang encouraged all members of the Taipei Water Department to strive to provide the best services to the public. In the past, local governments emphasized infrastructure construction, but when the construction is largely completed, it is imperative to provide citizens with good services. The Taipei Water Department is the unit that best embodies the concept of a "service-oriented government" and all should work hard towards this goal. The Taipei Water Department stated that under the support and high expectations of Mayor Chiang, the Department shall continue to strive to provide the best services and water quality to the citizens of Taipei!
