Taipei Water Department

　　Typhoon Bavi is expected to begin affecting northern Taiwan on Friday (July 10), bringing heavy rainfall that could significantly increase turbidity in river water sources and affect water treatment operations. In addition, some areas may experience water service interruptions due to power outages. The Taipei Water Department advises residents to fill their water storage tanks in advance and conserve water, as a little preparation can help minimize inconvenience.

　　The Department has completed inspections and preparations of flood prevention supplies, personnel, and critical facilities, including the operations control center, booster pumping stations, distribution reservoirs, and the Feitsui Raw Water Pipeline, to help ensure a stable water supply. Coordination has also been completed with partner contractors to provide additional equipment, vehicles, and personnel if needed during the storm.

　　The Department also reminds residents that if the Taipei City Government announces the suspension of work and classes, the Taipei Water Park (including the Museum, Water Country Park, and Water Adventure Park) and Beitou Thermal Valley Park will close accordingly to ensure visitor safety.
