Taipei Water Department

At approximately 10:00 a.m. today, a contractor of Taipei Water Department, Shih Yeh Engineering Co., Ltd., was carrying out manhole construction work in front of No. 2, Section 1, Xintan Road, Xindian District, New Taipei City, when a private vehicle struck the contractor’s work vehicle. The accident resulted in four contractor personnel being injured. Emergency services (119) and Taipei Water Department were immediately notified. The injured were rushed to Tzu Chi Hospital and Cardinal Tien Hospital for treatment. Among them, one individual sustained a leg injury but remained conscious, two sustained minor injuries, and one was found with no vital signs and is currently undergoing emergency resuscitation.

Taipei Water Department has since visited the injured, is providing legal and medical assistance, and has required the contractor to file reports in accordance with occupational safety regulations. The Taipei Water Department will fully cooperate with relevant authorities in the ongoing investigation.
