Taipei Water Department Issues "Reservoir Water Release Alert" for Zhitan Dam via Cell Broadcast at 07:30 on July 11
Due to the impact of Typhoon Bavi, the upstream river flow of Xindian River has increased. In response, Zhitan Dam will regulate water levels by increasing the water release to approximately 500 cubic meters per second starting from 8:30 PM on July 11, 2026. The release volume will be adjusted accordingly based on the upstream river flow conditions. Residents downstream of Zhitan Dam and along the banks of Xindian River, including those in the Taipei City and New Taipei City areas, are advised to remain vigilant and stay away from the riverbanks to ensure their safety. In addition to broadcasting the water release alert along the banks of Xindian River, the Taipei Water Department is also utilizing the Executive Yuan Office of Disaster Management's "Disaster Prevention Alert Cell Broadcast Service" to issue the "Reservoir Water Release Alert."
