2026 Taipei Water Festival Opens with More Than 6,000 Visitors Enjoying Summer Fun at Gongguan's Two Water Attractions!
The Taipei Water Department's 2026 Taipei Water Festival officially opened today (July 4), bringing a refreshing start to summer in the Gongguan area. By 2:00 p.m., more than 6,000 residents and visitors had flocked to the Water Adventure Park and Water Country Park to cool off and enjoy the festivities. The newly reopened Water Adventure Park features a lazy river, an extra-wide family waterslide, and a four-story spiral waterslide. At the Taipei Water Park, visitors can enjoy the newly renovated Water Country Park, two limited-time inflatable waterslides, and a lively fair, making the first weekend of July one of the coolest and most exciting summer celebrations in the city. The opening ceremony brought together Deputy Mayor Chang Wen-te, City Councilor Kuo Chao-yen, local borough chiefs, the chairperson of the local commercial district association, and other distinguished guests at the Water Adventure Park. Armed with water guns, they officially kicked off the 2026 Taipei Water Festival and joined families in celebrating the start of summer. Deputy Mayor Chang noted that the Taipei Water Festival has been a beloved summer tradition for more than 20 years. He said the reopening of the Water Adventure Park is expected to attract more visitors to the Gongguan area while boosting local businesses. This summer, the Department has also partnered with PILIGILI Water Park at the Taipei Children's Amusement Park in Shilin to offer reciprocal admission discounts. Visitors who present an admission ticket from one water attraction at the other can enjoy 20% off admission, linking two of Taipei's premier water destinations from north to south. He warmly invited residents and visitors to spend the summer in Gongguan by enjoying the water attractions, savoring the neighborhood's renowned cuisine, and exploring its vibrant shopping district. The Department noted that the Ice Pop Festival will continue today and tomorrow. Visitors who complete designated activities can redeem a limited-edition Taipei Water Festival ice pop while supplies last, adding an extra refreshing treat to their summer outing. The Taipei Water Park also features a fair with more than 30 booths, while partnerships with the Gongguan Shopping District Development and Promotion Association and local market and night market associations have resulted in special promotions at 60 participating local businesses. This summer's "Two Water Attractions, One Summer" campaign offers plenty of opportunities for family fun. Admission to the Water Adventure Park is NT$160 for adults, NT$130 for students, and NT$80 for concession tickets on weekdays, and NT$180, NT$160, and NT$90, respectively, on weekends and holidays.
