2025 Taipei Water Festival Kicks Off Over 7,000 Visitors Beat the Heat and Dive into Summer Fun!
The 2025 Taipei Water Festival launched with a splash today (June 28) at the Taipei Water Park in Gongguan! By noon alone, over 7,000 excited visitors of all ages had arrived to enjoy a refreshing escape from the 34°C heat—kicking off summer break with the ultimate way to cool down. This year’s festival features two limited-time inflatable water slides, a lively carnival, interactive booths on water conservation and clean governance, and more. Held on the very first day of summer vacation, the festival promises a vibrant and refreshing experience for families and friends alike. Commissioner Fan Huan-ying of the Taipei Water Department noted that the Taipei Water Festival has a 20-year legacy and has long been a highlight of the city’s summer season, drawing countless residents and visitors to the park every year. With this year’s theme, “One More Splash of Summer Fun,” the event invites everyone to enjoy a laid-back, energetic, and joy-filled summertime experience. Looking ahead, once the Gongguan Enterprise Building is completed, it will house the Taipei Literature Museum (managed by the Department of Cultural Affairs), the Sports Center (by the Department of Sports), the Good Water Story House (by the Taipei Water Department), and the Water Garden. Together with the existing Water Park and surrounding commercial district, these spaces will be integrated into a revitalized “Taipei Water Park Paradise.” Admission was free on opening day, and visitors were especially drawn to the Ice Cream Water Slide and Crab Water Slide, which are available for a limited time only (June 28 to July 13), along with the ever-popular Water Country Park Splash Pool. The festive atmosphere was energized by a cheerleading performance from the National Taiwan Sport University, with special guests including Councilor Kuo Chao-yen, Commissioner of the Department of Information Technology Chao Shih-lung, Commissioner of the Department of Sports Yu Zhu-ping, Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Finance Tsai Chu-hua, and local leaders and associations, who all joined in swinging the opening bat to mark the occasion. By noon, attendance had surpassed 7,800 visitors. According to the Taipei Water Department, for the summer period (July and August), ticket prices are NT$80 for general admission and NT$40 for concession tickets. Beyond water activities, visitors can explore the Museum of Drinking Water and book guided tours to the historic Guanyinshan Reservoir every Thursday and Saturday. Next summer, the iconic Water Country Garden will be unveiled with a brand-new look. Before it temporarily closes for renovations, the public is invited to take part in the Photo Contest from July 1 to August 31. Submit your favorite snapshots for a chance to win a one-year free admission pass!
