Guidelines of Raw Water Intake in response to the Turbidity Change of Raw Water.

With climate change, it’s getting normal that typhoons and heavy rains cause the turbidity of raw water to rise higher than 6,000 NTU, which is the maximum capacity of water purification plant can handle. To ensure the quality of supplied water, TWD has set guidelines that when raw water turbidity is under 6,000 NTU, the raw water intake works as usual; between 6,000 NTU and 12,000 NTU, the intake will be reduced; and over 12,000 NTU, the intake will be stopped. Therefore during typhoons, the water supply may be reduced or suspended in certain areas.
