Statement on Handling Situation by Taipei Water Department in Response to the Seismic Event in Eastern Taiwan on April 3rd

On the morning of April 3rd, at 7:58 a.m., a magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck the eastern waters off the coast of Taiwan. Taipei Water Department promptly initiated comprehensive inspections. Major facilities such as dams, water treatment plants, booster stations, and crucial water pipelines have all been inspected and found to be functioning normally.


Only a few areas experienced temporary drops in water pressure due to the earthquake. Restoration efforts are currently underway and progressing steadily. Additionally, isolated incidents of water leakage both indoors and outdoors have been reported by some users. The Taipei Water Department has promptly dispatched personnel to address these issues.
