The Taipei Water Department, in collaboration with the Department of Education, organized the "Flow of Creativity: Painting a Sustainable Future" painting competition to promote sustainable water resource development. Within a short period from September 10 to October 30, a total of 267 artworks were submitted. Participants competed for High Distinction and Excellence Awards across different categories. Winning students will be honored with awards presented personally by Mayor Chiang Wan-an during a city council meeting in mid-December.
According to the Taipei Water Department, the competition featured two groups: middle and upper grade elementary school students. Participation in the middle grade group was especially enthusiastic, with nearly 200 submissions competing for the top three High Distinction Awards. The artworks, inspired by water, encompassed themes such as water conservation, appreciation of water resources, water recycling, environmental sustainability, and marine ecological preservation. The judges were highly impressed by many entries, noting the rich use of color, well-executed details, and the children's sophisticated techniques using contrast to further demonstrate their creative skills.
The Taipei Water Department announced that outstanding artworks will be framed and exhibited at the Taipei Water Park. Visitors are welcome to attend the exhibition, and those who participate in the Popularity Award voting will have the chance to win a one-year free admission pass to the Taipei Water Park.
