Typhoon Kong-rey is expected to affect Taiwan on Oct. 30 and it is afraid that the heavy rain brought by it could raise the turbidity of raw water in the river and therefore, the tap-water supply; especially the area susceptible to power black off and leading to short of power to pump water.Taipei Water Department suggests their customers to fill up water towers and sumps, and cut the consumption as much as possible, as 1% preparation is 1% free of inconvenience.
In the event of official announcements for class and work suspensions by the Taipei City Government, Taipei Water Park (including the Museum of Drinking Water, Water Country Park) and Beitou Thermal Valley Park will close accordingly to ensure visitor safety. For information related to water services during typhoons, please visit the Taipei Water Department’s official website at http://www.water.gov.taipei or contact the 24-hour customer service hotline at 02-8733-5678.
