Celebrate the Year of the Dragon by Marveling at Splendid Cherry Blossoms at Taipei Water Park during the Lunar New Year Holidays Closed for Maintenance after the Holidays from February 16 to April 15

The Taipei Water Department (TWD) is welcoming the Year of the Auspicious Dragon and launching exciting Lunar New Year activities at the Taipei Water Park. During the 7-day holiday period, the park will be closed only on New Year's Eve, with normal operation on all other days. Inside the park, the Kawazu cherry blossoms, Yoshino cherry blossoms and indigenous Taiwan mountain cherry blossoms are in full bloom. Visitors can also explore the Baroque-style century-old historic monument and the hidden gem of Guanyinshan Reservoir. Additionally, during the Lunar New Year, visitors will receive a commemorative gift upon purchasing admission tickets. The TWD sincerely invites everyone to come to Taipei Water Park for a spring outing, cherry blossom viewing and capture beautiful photos!

According to the TWD, the Lunar New Year holidays this year (2024), lasting for 7 days, is the perfect opportunity to visit one of Taipei's little known flower viewing spots: the “Taipei Water Park”. The “Kawazu cherry blossoms” near the museum will soon reach their peak viewing period, complementing the European classical-style Museum of Drinking Water building. As you ascend Little Guanyinshan, you will also find Yoshino cherry blossoms and Taiwan mountain cherry blossoms in full bloom, and you can easily reach the park for flower viewing by taking public transportation to the MRT Gongguan Station. During the Lunar New Year holiday period, the Taipei Water Park will only be closed on New Year's Eve (2/9), with normal operation on other dates. Visitors who purchase admission tickets will also receive a commemorative small gifts, such as utensil storage bags, stress-relief animal pens, or decorative stickers (limited quantities, available while supplies last).

The TWD further added that to coincide with the Gongguan Building Construction Project, there will be comprehensive drainage improvement work in the Taipei Water Park and its vicinity. In consideration of public safety, Taipei Water Park will be closed for renovations from February 16 to April 15, 2024. During this time, ticket sales, wedding photoshoots, Taipei Good Water Exploration Tours, morning exercises for local residents and venue rentals will be temporarily suspended. The TWD will use this period to improve the overall facilities of the park, mountain trail platforms, road surfaces and enhance volunteer training, among other initiatives. This will not only provide the public with a better visiting environment and service quality but also integrate local highlights and promote tourism development of the surrounding area. In the upcoming spring of 2024, a brand-new event, the “Endless Flow! 2024 Cypher Grand Tournament”, is expected be launched at the Gongguan Riverside Plaza, promising to be an exciting and highly anticipated event!
