On May 1st, the Taipei Water Department Workers Union organized the "Labor Day Carnival and Awards Ceremony for Model, Outstanding and Excellent Employees" at the Taipei Water Park. Lee Shu-chuan, Deputy Mayor of Taipei City, city councilor Kuo Chao-yan, and Kao Bao-hua, Commissioner the Taipei City Department of Labor graced the event to commemorate the occasion. Deputy Mayor Lee Shu-chuan presented the National Model Worker Award to deserving colleagues of the Water Department, acknowledging their hard work and dedication as integral members of the city government's engineering team.

Chuang Ying, chairperson of the Taipei Water Department Workers Union, highlighted that this year's Labor Day event featured officials from various levels presenting awards, including the National Model Worker, Taipei City Government Model Worker, Taipei City Government Outstanding Worker, Taipei City Government Excellent Union Affairs Personnel, Taipei Water Department Workers Union Labor Day Outstanding Worker, and Taipei Water Department Labor Day Outstanding Employee awards. In total, 36 outstanding employees from the Taipei Water Department were honored. The awards and nominees proposed by the union received recognition from the Taiwan Federation of Trade Unions and the Taipei Union Labor Federation. This recognition not only recognized the awards recipients but also uplifts the spirits of all Taipei Water Department colleagues.

The Taipei Water Department disclosed that for the carnival, the Taipei Water Department Workers Union arranged for 20 food trucks and invited local merchants from the Gongguan shopping district to set up stalls at the venue, creating a vibrant atmosphere. In addition to recognizing the efforts of current Taipei Water Department employees, many retired former employees of the Taipei Water Department were also invited to partake in the festivities. Labor serves as the backbone of any organization and the tireless efforts of Taipei Water Department employees ensure the delivery of high-quality and safe water to Taipei. The Taipei Water Department and the Taipei Water Department Workers Union pledge to continue advocating for the rights and welfare of employees while fostering an improved workplace environment.
